Andrew Edwards served as Private in Capt. Charles Fleming's Co. 7, VA Reg.
(Vol. 9, page 101 Revolutionary Soldiers of Va.). He resided in Cumberland
Co., VA., during the Revolution.

Andrew and a brother served in the Revolutionary War. According to War Department records and to the book Revolutionary Soldiers of Virginia, Volume #9, Andrew served as a private in the War in Capt. Charles Flemming's Co. of the 7th Virginia
Regiment commanded by Col. Alexander McClannahan. His name first appears in the company's muster for June, 1777, which shows that he enlisted Feb.2, year not stated. Discharged 2//7/1778. There is a chapter of the Daughters of the American
Revolution, in Centerville, TN,--the Andrew Edwards chapter-- named in his honor.
