General Notes:
William Thomas Edwards was born in the Little Flock Community 2 miles west of Piggott on the Elvis Whitehorn farm. He and his wife homesteaded 40 acres of ground 2 miles northwest of Piggott near the old dirt mines. He moved to Piggott for awhile and had a dray service 1890-1944 using a team and wagon. He took out the first dray license in Piggott. He and Buck Templeton later took out a second dray license together. He hauled coal, lumber, etc., for the Robinson Lumber Company for 22 years. He also did some draying and lumber business himself. He helped haul the lumber for the first church at Wrights Chapel. This lumber was partially hauled from Campbell, Missouri, and he hauled it here with an ox team, crossing the St. Francis River on a ferry. Note: The writer of this item is unknown. It was found in the effects of Venie Bradford, deceased.
On January 19, 1900 William T. Edwards Homestead Entry No. 20.389 for the NW Quarter of the SE Q. of Sec. 4, TWP 20 N, R 8 E. Witnesses were James Johnson, J. M. Templeton, Minor Krick and Andrew Vaughn, all of Piggott.

William married Leona Lee FUGUA, daughter of S. W. FUGUA and Unknown, on 28 Sep 1889 in Clay County, Arkansas. (Leona Lee FUGUA was born on 13 Sep 1872 in Tennessee, died on 20 Feb 1951 in Clay County, Arkansas and was buried on 22 Feb 1951 in Piggott Cemetery.)
